Driving (go away rain!) into work today, my iPod did something amusing. On shuffle, it played the Postal Service’s version of “Such Great Heights” and then immediately followed it with Iron & Wine’s. I am glad it ended up in that order, because Iron & Wine’s cover works much better than the original – I probably would have fast-forwarded past the second one if the order had been reversed.
After finishing it last night, I have decided that I feel very comfortable making the following book recommendation to any and all people who might be reading this: The People of Paper by Salvador Plascencia. I can’t really tell you all that much about the book because anything I tell you won’t 1) make sense and 2) do the book justice. It is a remarkable first novel, and a very different, yet interesting read.
